Jaan Sanu (born on 15th April, 1994) is an Indian playback singer and a musician. He is best known for being the son of Kumar Sanu who is the leading singer and music director of the Indian music industry. He gained tremendous popularity after releasing his song titled “Dil Mera Churaya kyu” in 2018. He participated in the reality show called ‘Big Boss 14’ that is being premiered on Colors TV.

Early life and Background
Jaan Sanu was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. He belongs to a Bengali Hindu family. His father is Kumar Sanu who is a phenomenal singer and his mother is Rita Bhattacharya who is a homemaker. His parents got divorced in 1994, when Jaan was born. He is currently living with his mother. Jaan completed his schooling from Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School located in Mumbai and graduated from University of Calcutta. His maternal grandmother, Neera Dutta is also a well-known Bengali singer. He has two siblings. His eldest brother’s name is Jesse Bhattacharya who is a teacher and his second brother’s name is Zicco Bhattacharya who is a graphic designer by profession. He has two step sisters namely Shannon K who is a well-known Hollywood singer and Annabel. Since his entire family has a musical background, he too got interested in music.
Jaan is currently single and not interested in anyone romantically. He is extremely focused on his career and has got no plans to date anyone. He hasn’t shared anything about his personal life on social media either.

Jaan Sanu released his first Bengali music album, ‘Tomra Shunbe Toh,’ when he was just eight years old. His name was recorded in the Limca Book of Records for being the youngest singer to release his own album. He recorded his first song for the popular Indian singer Babul Bose for the film called ‘Escape from Taliban’ in the year 2003. He lent his voice for chorus in the Bollywood song called ‘Bam Bam Bole’ when he was 12 years old. He has also participated in the TV reality show ‘Rin Mera Star Superstar’ in 2006 as a contestant. He released a cover song of his father’s song ‘Dil Mera Churaya Kyun’ in 2018. He released and dedicated his song called ‘Tu Sandali’ to his grandmother in 2020. He was seen in the reality show called Big Boss 14, and got evicted recently.

During an episode in Bigg Boss 14, Jaan Kumar Sanu asked Nikki Tamboli to not use the Marathi language saying “mereko chid hoti hai (it irks me)”. This remark offended many. MNS leader Ameya Khopkar demanded an immediate apology, the channel issued an apology and ensured the Government of Maharashtra that they will edit out the statement. Jaan apologized to the Marathi community and Big Boss saying that he will make sure nothing of this sort happens in the future.
