Shubha Poonja (born on 9th September 2021) is a South Indian actress who works in Kannada and Tamil language movies. She’s also a former model. After appearing in a number of commercials and modeling assignments, she made her debut on the big screen with the movie, Machi in the year 2004. She also appeared in a number of hit movies like Thirudiya Idhyathai in 2005, Jackpot in 2006, and Moggina Manasu in 2008 for which she received a Filmfare Award. Her other works include films such as Preethi Hungama in 2010, Kanteerava in 2011, Parari in 2013, Artha and Kotigondu Love Story in 2015, and Meenakshi in 2017. She is currently seen on the Bigg Boss Kannada show as a contestant.

Early Life and Background
Shubha was born and brought up in a well-settled Hindu family from Mangalore, Karnataka, India. She belongs to the Hinduism religion and the Tuluva community. Her father works in a private bank while her mother is a housewife. She completed her schooling at Carmel Convent School in Jayanagar, Bangalore, Karnataka. Shubha then went to Bishop Cotton Girls College in Bangalore in order to complete her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts. She received a number of modeling offers during her college time and she went on to win the title of Miss Chennai Top Model in the year 2003.

Career
Shubha began her career in the entertainment industry as a model. Apart from modeling, she also started doing a number of television commercials and endorsed many brands alongside that. Besides modeling and doing commercials, she has also won the title of Miss. Chennai Top Model in the year 2003. After winning the title, she started receiving a number of films offers from many well-known directors and producers in the south Indian film industry. Shubha made her debut with the Tamil movie called Machi in 2004. She appeared in many Tamil and Kannada movies after that. Her Kannada movie debut was with the movie, Jackpot in the year 2006. Shubha became one of the recognized actresses in the south Indian film industry after that.
