Career

Mir Sarwar embarked on his career under the guidance of renowned directors M K Raina and Bapi Bose in Delhi. He engaged in three workshops at the National School of Drama. In late 2014, he permanently relocated to Mumbai, where he secured roles in two prominent films: “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” (2015) and “Phantom” (2015). In the former, he portrayed the father of the lost Pakistani girl, Shahida, who is led back to Pakistan by Salman Khan’s character.

Sarwar’s involvement extended to the production of “Kashmir Daily,” a self-financed venture within the realm of Kashmiri cinema. His commitment to the industry goes beyond financial gain, as he passionately contributes to projects and encourages local residents to partake in filmmaking. Notably, he recently directed the film “BED NO.17” in Srinagar, which is set to feature in various film festivals. In 2017, he collaborated on Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film “Kaatru Veliyidai,” filming in Hyderabad and Ladakh after successfully auditioning for the role, despite relinquishing a part in “Naam Shabana” due to scheduling conflicts.
